OUR VALUES

Kindness
The language of compassion - People Persons actively fosters an environment of friendliness, generosity, and consideration towards all individuals, both within and outside the congregation, through compassionate acts and caring gestures.

Community
Where connections blossom and support grows - People Persons serves as a hub for bringing together people from diverse backgrounds, fostering a sense of belonging, support, and shared purpose among its members while also reaching out to embrace and engage with the broader community.

Empowerment
Helping you, help us, helps us - Through its teachings, support systems, and initiatives, the church empowers individuals to realise their potential, gain autonomy, and actively participate in shaping their lives and communities for the better.

Why join us?
And what’s our pitch? Simple. Imagine teaming up with a community that has real structure, but the heart of a grassroots movement. We’re all about making tangible difference, celebrating life’s real moments, and doing it with a bit of style and a lot of substance.
So — let’s join forces. People Persons exists because it’s high time for a place that encourages you to think, connect, and actually do something with that big brain (and big heart) of yours. Let’s make something meaningful happen — without pretending we’ve got life perfectly together. After all, we’re human, and that’s messy, beautiful, and absolutely worth celebrating.
Who we are
Alright, let’s get down to brass tacks. People Persons is a modern community space for people who want connection without the baggage. We’ve stripped things back to what actually matters: good humans, real conversations, shared experiences, and meaningful action — ideally powered by espresso. Why community, you ask? Because it works. Humans have always gathered in groups to make sense of life, support each other, and do good in the world. Think of it like taking the chassis of a classic car and installing a clean, future-ready engine — familiar, but built for the world we live in now.

MEET OUR FOUNDERS

VICTORIA VICKERY
I had the very good fortune of being involved in formally structured community groups from a young age. They helped me learn how to connect more authentically with others, as well as how to organise and lead.
I want a world where humans have mastered the art of collaboration to the extent that everyone has their basic survival needs met; experiences belonging, and is able to engage in meaningful work. People Persons is how I am acting locally on this global thought.

MATT SHUMACK
I am motivated by collaborative projects that build skills and connection to people outside my standard working day to day life.
My ideal future is a space where our extended community can gather for shared resources, meetings and events that celebrate life in a way that is tangible to us in our immediate present.

LISA CHARLESON
I am a Community Development professional interested in culture, mind-body health and what makes us happy. I’m part of a community that supports me to have a better quality of life in countless ways every day. I want everyone to have the opportunity to say the same.
I envision a thriving, diverse and self-sustaining People Persons that provides a foundation for living well.

LAUREN MASSY
I’m a creative at heart with a degree in graphic design. I’m quick to dive into any artistic project, and I’ve found that community has been a cornerstone of my happiness and growth time and time again.
Understanding the importance of building the spaces we want to see, I’m passionate about creating a platform where others can connect and thrive.
My vision for People Persons is a thriving, abundant, and supportive community that’s fun, inclusive, and equipped with all the benefits traditionally reserved for religious organisations.
